The Golden Book of Fairy Tales
Fabulously illustrated, this famous fairy tale book has been around for years.  Now, reprinted, this beautiful oversized book contains 28 famous fairy tales.  The reading level is slightly higher than that of the Random House fairy tale we offer in 1st grade.  One thing I like about both of these books for younger children is that they focus on the "sweet" fairy tales rather than on the more frightening ones.
