The Star Spangled Banner (pictureback)
This adorable little book contains all four verses of the song.  Charmingly illustrated, each page also contains a small sidebar depicting some important item of Americana such as Betsy Ross & the American flag, the Statue of Liberty, Mt. Rushmore, and more. This year, I'm going to switch from using the D'Aulaire's version to this one.  They're both wonderful!

The Star Spangled Banner (D'Aulaire's ed.)
This book is an absolute delight!  We use it every morning while singing the national anthem-- one girl holds the flag while the other turns the beautifully illustrated pages in this book.  The words of this important piece of our heritage become meaningful as the children gaze upon the sumptuous images in this book.

The United States of America
I wish you could see the wonderful illustrations in this book!  While trying to find a replacement for the State Sticker Book (which was to be the spine of the 3rd grade state study) I had several "state" books covering tables, floors, etc.  This is the one my girls could not leave alone.  Each state is beautifully drawn; mountains, rivers and major cities are all visible.  Each state also has charming pictures of its state bird, flower, tree etc. along with pertinent interesting facts.

The State Sticker Book
We now have The State Sticker Book which was originally a part of the 3rd grade curriculum! After waiting nearly a year for this wonderful book, the publishing company finally reprinted it!  This book is outstanding for teaching elementary students about the different states in our great country.  Each state is covered on one page with info such as state motto, bird, capital, interesting facts and trivia.  Along with fun "cartoony" pictures, there are stickers of state flowers, flags, and capitals.  In the back of the book there is a "Capital Matching" game, information about the United States,  national symbols, holidays, and the words to our national anthem.  A fun learning tool at an unbeatable price.
