READERS for PROGRAM A

This program is intended for those children just starting to learn to read. 

I developed this simple program in order to teach my first child, Chloe, how to read.  She was reading within the second day and excited about being able to read the fun and colorful books below.  I have used this program successfully with several children since.

An integral part of Tanglewood's reading program is our Really Reading! book which approaches word decoding through the basic phonetic principles.  In 21 short lessons, the student covers the most important phonetic principles and has the opportunity to read real books.  The books below are the suggested readers for this beginning level, and coincide somewhat with the Really Reading! program.  They are listed in the suggested order of use and have been chosen according to phonetic content, story interest, and picture quality.
